About Austur Horses
Austur Horses was created to give quality Icelandic horses from East Iceland a stronger platform and make them easier to discover.
Distance has often made it more difficult for horses in the East to reach buyers, even though the region is home to talented horses, experienced riders and dedicated breeders.
We want to change that.
A personal approach to horse sales
Austur Horses is not an open marketplace.
Every horse featured on our website is personally presented by our team. We meet the horse, gather the relevant information, ride and get a feel for the horse where appropriate, and create the photos and video used in the listing.
Our goal is simple: to present each horse clearly, honestly and professionally.
We want buyers to have a good understanding of the horse before travelling to see it, while giving sellers a professional way to reach a wider audience.
Based in East Iceland
We are a small team of four horse people based in East Iceland.
Between us, we have experience with Icelandic horses, breeding, riding, photography, video and digital media.
That combination is what Austur Horses is built around.
We ride them. We photograph them. We film them. We present them.
